In 2009, after attending a support group facilitated by CT Pain Foundation, photographer and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome survivor, Syd London, had an idea for a photo documentray that she entitled INvisible Project. It was her vision to bring public visibility to the experiences and strengths of those living with pain. Recognizing the importance of a project that compared the fragility of the physical body with the resilience of the spirit that holds onto hope, CT Pain Foundation supported Syd's photo documentary and was eager to turn it into reality. Thus, the INvisible project was born.

The INvisible project will highlight the day-to-day experiences of fifteen chronic pain survivors through photographs. Following each person for one day, Syd will capture the struggles and triumphs of the fifteen survivors. As the INvisible allows the outside world a glimpse of what it is like to live with pain while persistently pursuing to live a meaningful life, the goal of this project is to create chronic pain awareness, empower survivors and generate change.
