Founded as a personal advocacy work in 2008, HealthCare PSI is now a national non-profit organization. Our mission is to engage and inform the public on the current state of healthcare in the US - with special emphasis on preventable medical harm - and, in doing so, raise the quality of care for all people.
Our grassroots organization is comprised of men and women from all walks of life - film & tv professionals, business people, physicians, researchers, nurses and other frontline caregivers, attorneys, journalists, teachers, parents, retirees. We have one thing in common - we are passionate about the quality of patient care.
Our focus is two-fold:
1) Call on media creatives to produce content aimed at educating the public about preventable medical harm. In doing so, we hope to change the national conversation about patient safety. Currently, the conversation is dominated by healthcare industry policy makers. We aim to put patients squarely in the middle of any and all discussions about the quality of care they receive.
2) Improve patient care by engaging in early intervention and research of some of the most commonly misdiagnosed conditions affecting large segments of the population, and then share our findings with the healthcare community.
HealthCare PSI invites patient advocates to querry us about our current programs and join us in our efforts. We are proud to work with some of the most compassionate and effective patient advocates in North America, and look forward to collaborating with others on healthcare issues that affect people around the globe.
