Our happy and healthy 3-year-old son Sebastián died in October 2007 because of a series of preventable medical errors including a medication overdose. We believe future tragedies can be averted by the specialized treatment of children in a children’s hospital. That is why we have decided to devote our lives to building a children’s hospital in Gainesville, Florida. We formed the Sebastian Ferrero Foundation to advocate and fundraise for a full-service, state-of-the-art children's hospital in Gainesville, Florida and to promote excellence in patient safety.
